Our Mission
Our practice is centered on helping children find the best support to access flexible communication in everyday situations. Our passion is working with autistic children. We look at the whole child and use a social-emotional approach to help children, and their families make meaningful progress.
Our Approach
Our approach is child-led, sensory-savvy, neurodiversity affirming, play-based, and caregiver engaged. Parent coaching is a big part of what we do, since family members and caregivers are the ones who can really move the needle. Virtual parent coaching is available for families of children seen in person, or for any parent in Texas who just needs extra support.
Why Work With Us
Our company name is Grow In Connection because we all grow when connections are made. Connection is the intervention! What makes our approach different is our focus on autistic children and their families, using a social-emotional, play-based, and neurodiversity affirming lens.
Welcome to Grow In Connection Speech Therapy, Where Everything We Do is Personalized to You
Your child’s communication shows up everywhere, at home, on the playground, at school, and everywhere in between. Pediatric speech therapy is designed to help your child build flexible, functional communication in the everyday moments that matter most to your family.
Every child is different, so support goes beyond words when your child needs it. That can include sensory regulation, feeding, accessing AAC, and coaching you along the way, so you feel confident helping your child at home.
Books are a big part of sessions, too. Pre-literacy and literacy skills are woven into play, and if read alouds feel tricky right now, maybe your child wanders off or you’re not sure how to keep them engaged, you’ll get simple strategies to make story time more connected and fun for both of you.
Why Starting Early Matters
Your child’s early years are a time of amazing growth.
About 80% of brain development happens before age 3
Your child’s brain forms over a million new connections every second
Everyday moments with you, talking, playing, and responding, help those connections grow
Starting early means less frustration for your child, more connection for your family, and tools you can use every day. If something feels off, trust your instincts. You don’t have to wait and see to get a speech therapy evaluation.
Personalized Therapy to Help You Achieve Your Goals
Speech and Language Evaluations
Your child’s evaluation includes a typed summary with a plan of care and home program recommendations. Evaluations can cover language, AAC, feeding, articulation, and more.
Speech Therapy Sessions
Sessions are typically 45 minutes, 2x/week, and address the support needs of your child and family. When your child is seen at home, parent coaching is included in sessions. If your child is seen at daycare or school, a 15-minute summary call or email is offered 1x/week.
Virtual Parent Coaching
Parent coaching sessions can be added to your child’s in-person therapy, or they can stand alone if you’re looking for extra support. Stand-alone sessions are available to families anywhere in Texas.
Meet Your Therapist
Welcome! I’m Rachelle.
I’m a bilingual (English & Spanish) speech therapist with 20+ years of experience across home health, clinic, and school settings.
I have enjoyed supporting clients with a wide range of needs, but I am especially passionate about working with autistic clients and their families. I help parents and caregivers understand their child’s developmental profile and show them how to connect, play, and build language in meaningful, everyday ways.
There is always a wide spectrum of differences and support needs among autistic clients and families. This makes my job consistently interesting and a challenge I welcome. I am grateful for all the clients I’ve learned from, and I continue to learn from them to become a better clinician.
As a lifelong learner, I’m always engaging in continuing education. It is truly an honor and a joy to do this work!
Clear communication should be accessible to everyone.
How it All Works
-
Send me an email and we’ll set up a time to talk. Before our call, I’ll ask you to fill out a short form so I can get a sense of what’s been on your mind about your child. On the call, we’ll talk through what you shared, answer your questions, and decide together if we’re a good fit. If we are, we’ll schedule an evaluation.
-
We’ll start with a thorough evaluation in your home or another familiar space. Together, we’ll learn your child’s strengths, notice where they could use support, and create a therapy plan made just for them.
-
Through consistent weekly sessions, we’ll work on goals that matter in your child’s everyday life. Sessions happen wherever your child feels most supported and where it’s easiest for you, whether that’s home, daycare, or school. You’ll always know what we’re working on and why, and I’ll share simple ways to keep the momentum going between visits.
Insurance & Billing
Grow In Connection is a private pay practice, so we can focus on what your child truly needs rather than what an insurance plan dictates. Superbills are available for out-of-network reimbursement, and HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
